Each artist receives updated scores across seven unique metrics, allowing you to track performance effortlessly and make informed decisions.

Intelligent, Nuanced Metrics

The seven graded-metrics within the Talent Search tool were created both out of user research and our own team’s years of industry experience. Split into two categories, the Performance Metrics are grouped and graded according to what metrics show an artist’s recent success - be it in their expansion of their fanbase, their audience’s engagement, or their playlist presence. The second category, Contextual Metrics, encapsulates the nature of an artist’s success - how varied their audience is across multiple demographics, their reach on Editorial playlists, or their fans’ presence within Chartmetric’s proprietary “Trigger Cities” list. Combined, these metrics give you the ability to specify what kinds of artists are most interesting to you.

Metric Explainability

Designed with user intuition in mind, the Talent Discovery tool simplifies complex data and always seeks to clearly represent a grade’s underlying datapoints. Each of the seven metrics integrates multiple measurements, sometimes from several platforms, to create a holistic evaluation of an artist’s performance. Rather than relying on a single number, the tool layers multiple dimensions into each score.

What is more, each grade is clickable, leading to a quick pop-up explanation that breaks down the data underpinning each score. This way, users can easily understand and make value judgements on each artist’s performance without having to wonder how a grade was assigned.

Filter Options

The Talent Search tool offers powerful filter options, enabling users to customize their search and zero in on exactly what they’re searching for. With filters covering both artist metadata (such as genre, career stage, and country) as well as the graded-metrics themselves, you’re in full control of the results. 

For instance, users interested in emerging American pop artists can apply filters for location and genre to streamline their search. The color-coded metric scores make it easy to interpret results at a glance, and the filters laid along the tool’s header are always a click away from leading down a new discovery rabbit-hole!
